There was great excitement and anticipation as we headed to Crawfordsburn Activity Centre for the Louth Scout County Camp 2026. Scouts from across the county arrived full of energy, ready for a packed weekend of adventure. Activities on offer included tomahawk throwing, caving, wall climbing, grass sledging, and much more, ensuring there was something for everyone regardless of experience level. For many, it was their first visit to Crawfordsburn, and the impressive setup did not disappoint. With a wide range of facilities all located close together, it made moving between activities easy and allowed leaders to plan additional day trips and group excursions without difficulty.

The Scouts embraced every opportunity, trying their hand at everything from axe throwing to airsoft target shooting. One of the highlights of the weekend was the County Camp campfire, held in the dedicated campfire circle. As the sun set, Scouts gathered together to enjoy traditional campfire songs, laughter, and the strong sense of community that Scouting brings.

A particularly special moment came as the Beaver Scouts celebrated their 50th birthday during the camp. This milestone was marked with songs, interactive dancing, and a lively celebration on the centre stage. The enthusiasm and participation from everyone made it a memorable occasion—happy 50th birthday to the Beavers!

Groups from across Louth Scout County were well represented, including 7th Louth Coastal, 1st/2nd/5th Louth Dundalk Scout Group, Buíon Setanta Scout Group, 8th Louth Slieve Foy, and Blackrock. The coming together of so many groups helped create a fantastic atmosphere of friendship and shared experience throughout the weekend.

A great weekend was had by all, filled with adventure, teamwork, and lasting memories. Many thanks go to the County Team for organising such a brilliant event for our youth members and Scouters. Their hard work ensured everything ran smoothly and that everyone could fully enjoy the experience. It is safe to say we will be back again soon.

Videos and photos from the weekend will be available on the Louth Scout County social media pages, as well as on the respective Scout Group pages of those who attended.
