On Saturday December 13th 2025 Scouters from all over the Provience achieved a milestone in attaining their woodbeads – the highest level of Scouter Training available to those who complete the Scouter Training Programme. Woodbeads are internationally recognised throughout the Scouting organisations and WOSM (World Organisation of the Scout Movement) as well as other Scouting bodies around the world.

7th Louth Coastal Scout Group commented “Massive congratulations to our Deputy Group Leader and Cub Scouter Jack Nelligan, who today has completed his woodbadge journey and attained his woodbeads.

The Woodbadge in Scouting Ireland is the premier adult leadership training award, symbolising commitment and development of skills, marked by two wooden beads from Baden-Powell’s original Zulu necklace, signifying top-tier training for Leaders to enhance unit effectiveness through advanced leadership, management and communication skills. It’s an optional but significant journey involving progressive modules, practical application, and culminates in earning these unique beads, focusing on personal growth and better Scouting for youth.”

Congratulations again What an achievment. Well done also to all who have also attained their woodbeads.

Happy Christmas from 7th Louth Coastal Scout Group. All Sections across our group have now finished up for the festive period. See you in 2026. Enjoy the break and festivities 🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄. Have a great New Year
