During the Summer of 2021 I had the opportunity to work in both Larch Hill International Scout and Guide Centre and Lough Dan Scout Centre. Based predominantly out of Larch Hill going back and forth between Lough Dan the internship provides experience in the areas of Customer Service, Information Technology using the online booking system Cinolla with the opportunity to expand on marketing and graphics should you be interested. You will also participate in the delivery of Activity training to school groups as well as other members of Scouting Ireland.
While there I worked on the Scout Groups booking pack for Lough Dan among others and feel that I have come away from the internship with a lot more experience in all aspects and e that I will carry over to my Scout Group and my life.
The internship is great for anybody who wants to know more about how a Scout Centre like Larch Hill, Lough Dan or indeed Castle Saunderson is run but as well as that it’s great for anyone who wants to expand upon their already existing skills in certain area(s) and it is a great way to meet new people.
