On the weekend of October 4th and 5th 2025 Scouters from across the County came together to participate in Scouting Together a Scouter training course for adults in Scouting that forms part of the woodbadge training scheme and marks the end of the formal training weekends as per the layout of the Adult training Scheme which can be viewed on the Scouter Training page.
Over the course of the weekend Adult Scouters were thought about effective ways to communicate with your group, and ways of dealing with not so effective communication styles and how to manage different stresses within a group setting as well as this Scouters on the course were also given a more advanced talk in relation to Safeguarding with the Beyond Basics Safeguarding Course – Safeguarding for experienced Scouters which was shown at Scouting Ireland Cruinniu to those in attendance in September as part of that weekend.
A Great weekend Spent with great people all with one thing in common, to provide for our youth members through Non Formal Education and hopefully as Scouters bring back useful bits of information that we can impart and implement elements of this training within our various groups within the Louth Region.
I look forward to attaining my woodbeads in December and continuing as a Scouter with 7th Louth Coastal Scout Group.
Congratulations to Cub Scouter Jack Nelligan on completing the Scouting Together Course led by Declan Brady who was Course Lead for the weekend and the rest of the North East Training Team who delivered the Course to Scouters.
