Waiting List Policy
Parents/Guardians wishing to add their child to our waiting list should email 7thlouthscouts@gmail.com with their child’s full name and date of birth, and parents name and phone number.
As a scout group is entierly dependant on adult volunteers to function, we cannot just offer places strictly on a longest-waiter first basis. instead, priority is given to families who will contribute most in terms of time and effort to the running of our group.
Places are offered in the following order:
- Children of existing scouters (leaders)
- Children of adults who will be scouters*- this process must be commenced before the 1st of June in the year prior to child’s proposed start
- Children of adults who will actively participate in our Parents & Friends group – fundraising, spring cleaning, maintenance etc, please share your skills!
- Children who have siblings already in the group
- After all places allocated to above categories, any remaining places are alloated on a logest-waiter first basis
*What does it take to be a Scouter?
if you like working with children, enjoy the outdoors and have a good sense of humour, you have what it takes! Previous Scouting experience is not essential, especially in our younger sections. All training is provided. All our Scouters are Garda-vetted through Scouting Ireland. Get in Touch!
